The RC9800i touchscreen remote control is the ultimate universal remote control to optimize your Home Theater experience!
It works with virtually all infrared (IR) controlled audio and video equipment – including color TVs, DVD players and recorders, satellite receivers, digital set-top boxes, VCRs and audio systems.
The extensive universal database incorporated contains more than 1100 infrared codes, to allow control of any device of any brand. Furthermore, the RC9800i is also equiped to learn the infrared codes of the original remote, simply by pointing the orginal remote control to the learning eye of the RC9800i.
The RC9800i uses wireless 802.11 technology to control UPnP-networked entertainment devices and media adapters*.
The RC9800i includes PC software for browsing your PC directories on the remote. Simply select the file you want, press play and the media adapter* will be directed to play it on the legacy device.

Simply by connecting an audio extension cable1 from the remote’s cradle to your audio system's amplifier. The RC9800i with its WiFi and UPnP technology allows you to first listen on the remote itself. When docked in the charging cradle, the audio will be outputted by connecting the audio extension cable1 from the cradle to the audio set.

When you first take the RC9800i out of the box the remote will guide you through three steps using simple and easy questions:

1. Add rooms
First let the RC9800i know all the rooms in which you have equipment that you want to control.
2. Add devices
Secondly you add the audio video devices you have in each room; and the corresponding infrared codes.
3. Add connections and activities
Thirdly the RC9800i will ask how your devices are interconnected and what inputs and outputs you use on your equipment. The remote will also ask what devices are used for different activities.
